Dr. Patricia Bettinger is the Chief Scientific and Operating Officer at Cell BioEngines, bringing over 15 years of experience driving innovation in cell and gene therapy, immunology, and molecular biology. A recognized expert in T cell biology, gene editing, and analytical development, she is known for integrating process and analytical strategies within Quality-by-Design frameworks to advance transformative therapies.
Before joining Cell BioEngines, Dr. Bettinger served as Senior Director of Cell and Gene Therapy Process and Analytical Development at AGC Biologics, where she built and mentored high-performing R&D and CMC teams and led cross-functional initiatives across AAV, LVV, CAR-T/NK, and iPSC-derived platforms. At Precision BioSciences, she guided multidisciplinary teams through all stages of cell therapy development, from early discovery to clinical translation. Previously at Enochian Biosciences, she established the preclinical infrastructure for HIV and cancer immunotherapy programs.
Dr. Bettinger earned her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a concentration in Immunology from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, an M.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from San Diego State University, and completed postdoctoral research at the Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies, focusing on the transcriptional regulation of CD8+ T cells.
